FRIDAY SATURDAY SUNDAY MONDAY

Doors open 8pm. Admission is free to all delegates and the general public.

If you joined us last year you will know what a memorable festival of cutting-edge live music we offered. As expected many of the acts who played with us last year have gone on to release records and establish a name for themselves, most notably, 3rd Dan, Sara Hawley and The Amelies. This year is no different and we have a diverse but dynamic line up of sheer unadulterated talent that no self-respecting A & R person can afford to ignore. So get out of the city and breathe a different air in this charmed, lively suburb to check out some of these hotly tipped new acts.

Electronica hooked, articulate punk ROCK. c:b play like they've been released from a cage, every gig's an EVENT. Their stealthy, but consistent growth is largely due to word of mouth feedback from live performances, substantiated by the internetwork of the underground’s alternative rock media - "What then proceeds to unfold is half an hour of musical bedlam" accounts one reviewer. "Pure pop tunes that course round your inner-ear like joy-riding endorphins" (NME)

This rapidly developing young band spent much of 2005 on an album's worth of new songs (aired live to a fantastic response) Music is their life and way of life. corporation:blend run their own rock clubs, DJ at others and mutually promote and support other unsigned underground bands. SUNDAY 2 OCTOBER

THE MUTINY onstage 9pm

The Mutiny are based in the North of England and formed in 2003. The music is an exciting mix of punk and sleazy rock. At the moment there is nothing that compares to The Mutiny although you can hear their influences within the music, QOTSA, Led Zeppelin, Supergrass and Muse to name a few. Strong distinctive vocals from Bec, fast catchy guitar from Mand as well as drumming from Tom so hard it knocks you out. The result? A complete treat for your ears.

LIMOUSINE onstage 10pm

Formed in the early days of 2002, Limousine have fast become one of Blackpool's most talked about bands. Fusing together a myriad of melodic guitars, heart wrenching vocals and pounding rhythms, Limousine have proved themselves to be one of the best unsigned acts to come out of the North West. Even with years of experience, Limousine's sound stays fresh and creative bringing excitement and verve to the guitar based genre. Their live sets have become legendary thanks to their unprecedented stage performances.

Just two years on, and their innovative sound has taken the Limo to such venues as London's Garage, and has seen them as firm favourites on the bill supporting the likes of Six by Seven and Chris Helme (The Seahorses) Putting heart, soul and a big set of balls into their music undoubtedly makes Limousine the 'one's to watch'...

THE AMELIES onstage 11pm

A dizzy ride of crashing choruses, clashing tambourines, feedback and lipstick, the Amelies mix female vocals with a distinctly left-of-centre ethos creating deliciously dark twisted mood-pop.

A shiny new name in the dirgy world of Britpop, The Amelies expound playful glam art-punk all twisted up with high hair, sharp heels and bittersweet lyrics.

The Amelies wide-eyed, curious take on the world has won them a devoted cult following from London to Paris. For more info:

JAKPOT onstage 10pm

This band is unique in that Matt, Bruce, Joe and Neil are all originally from different corners of the North of England. The result is a distinctive northern blend of inspired lyrics, shining melodies and well-crafted rhythms.

So what brought them all to Manchester? Well, drummer Joe who himself is the only true Manc in the band by chance stumbled across frontman & guitarist Matt and bassist Bruce who had already established the Jakpot foundations in 2004. A couple of months later, following various escapades including a Council noise restriction order for one member of the band, the Jakpot had strongly sealed their presence on the Manchester band circuit! It was only when they made the decision to become a four piece however that the potential of the Jakpot’s future really became apparent.

The appointment of guitarist Neil, who was more than familiar with the Manchester band circuit at the time, brought a new dynamic to the band and one that has enabled Matt to take on board all the nuances of a passionate and reputable frontman and to give Bruce and Joe more scope in the rhythm section. The Jakpot are certainly creating a following in Manchester as audiences and interests grow from gig to gig. You can expect to hear a lot about this band!
